Materials we will be using: - Drawing Tablet and Pen, Adobe Photoshop, a digital photograph.

Follow the steps below:

Step 1 - Open Your Photo

First, you must download a photo you wish to use.  This can be from the internet or from Google Drive.  Once you have opened photoshop, Click: File>Open>Download> then select the image you have downloaded.  This will then open ready to use.

Step 2 - Crop Your Image

Once your photo is open, use the CROP tool to remove any excess canvas, if needed.

Step 3 - Change the opacity

To be able to work better on your image you need to turn the opacity down - this will make it slightly see through.

Under the Layers Panel click on the drop down arrow and adjust the slider downwards.

Step 5 - Draw a dividing line

Using the paint brush creatively draw a line that divides your photograph in half. It can be straight, curvy, or maybe you come up with another creative way to divide your space.

Step 6 - Paint in your lines and colours

Create a new Layer Layer>New>Layer. Using the brush tool, outline the contours of your photograph. Focus on getting all the details drawn by zooming in.

Create a new Layer Layer>New>Layer. Using the brush tool, add your colour. Get creative with colours!

Step 7 - Add a Background

Creatively add your color to your background. Explore patterns and value.

When you are finished:

File>Save As>Save On Computer>Cartoon Me - this will save your photoshop file with layers

File>Save A Copy>Save On Computer>Cartoon ME - this will save your work as a JPEG.
